Construction Gets Underway on 1000 Boulevard of the Arts, a New Luxury Condominium in Sarasota
Posted on November 1, 2026
Construction is advancing at 1000 Boulevard of the Arts, a new 20-story luxury condominium development in Sarasota’s Quay Waterfront District, with Moss Construction named general contractor for the project. Developed by Kolter Urban, the community will introduce 117 private condominium residences alongside the Hyatt Centric® Harborside hotel, bringing new residential opportunities to one of downtown Sarasota’s most desirable locations.
Moss Construction’s selection as general contractor marks another important milestone for the development. Kolter Urban will commemorate this progress with an official groundbreaking ceremony in November, celebrating the development’s advancement. Located within The Quay Waterfront District, the property overlooks Sarasota Bay, The Bay Park and the city’s downtown cultural district.
The announcement comes as The Bay Park celebrates its fourth anniversary, highlighting the continued transformation of Sarasota’s downtown waterfront. With expanded public parkland, cultural programming, waterfront recreation and continued investment throughout The Quay Waterfront District, the area is emerging as one of Sarasota’s most compelling residential destinations.

A Sarasota Address Connected to The Bay and The Quay
1000 Boulevard of the Arts occupies a distinctive position within The Quay Waterfront District. The redevelopment of the prior site of the Hyatt Sarasota introduces a new luxury condominium offering to a location long associated with Sarasota’s bayfront hospitality and cultural attractions.
The community will place residents near The Bay, Sarasota’s expanding public waterfront park, and the city’s renowned performing arts destinations. The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, Sarasota Opera House, Florida Studio Theatre and numerous downtown galleries contribute to the cultural environment that has earned Sarasota recognition as Florida’s Cultural Coast.
For residents seeking a walkable downtown Sarasota lifestyle, 1000 Boulevard of the Arts offers convenient access to waterfront recreation, dining and shopping. The Bay Sarasota provides opportunities for walking, outdoor recreation and community events, while The Quay Waterfront District features waterfront dining at Ocean Prime and connections to the harbor promenade. Downtown restaurants and boutiques are also nearby, creating an active urban lifestyle with Sarasota Bay as the backdrop.
Residence orientations will offer varying perspectives toward Sarasota Bay, The Bay and The Quay Harbor, depending on individual floor plans and elevations. This combination of waterfront proximity, cultural access and downtown convenience distinguishes the property within Sarasota’s dynamic luxury condominium market.
Kolter Urban Advances Construction with Moss Construction
The start of construction at 1000 Boulevard of the Arts adds another significant development to Kolter Urban’s longstanding presence in Sarasota.
Kolter Urban’s Sarasota portfolio includes VUE Sarasota Bay, Mark Sarasota, Bayso Sarasota and The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Sarasota. Its latest development, The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Sarasota Bay, is scheduled for completion later this year. Together, these communities reflect the development manager’s continued investment in Sarasota’s downtown residential market across multiple development cycles.
“With 1000 Boulevard of the Arts, we’re bringing together an exceptional residential address, a new Hyatt Centric hotel and a location that connects residents to some of Sarasota’s most celebrated cultural and waterfront destinations. The foundation and piling work getting underway this month marks an important step toward delivering that vision, and we’re pleased to have Moss leading the construction effort as we move forward.”
— Bob Vail, President, Kolter Urban
Moss Construction will oversee construction of the residential and hospitality development, working alongside the project’s architectural and design teams as work advances at the downtown Sarasota site. The architectural design is led by 10 Design, formerly SB Architects, with ID & Design International responsible for amenity interiors.
The residences will be offered in 17 distinctive floor plans, including one-, two- and three-bedroom designs, with dens available in select layouts. Ranging from approximately 1,200 to more than 3,000 square feet and priced from $1.5 million, the residences offer options for buyers seeking a sophisticated second home, transitioning from a larger single-family residence or planning a future full-time Sarasota address.

New Luxury Residences with Construction Underway
The luxury residences will feature expansive windows, private outdoor living areas, European cabinetry, panel-ready Thermador appliances, quartz countertops and spa-inspired bathrooms. The thoughtfully designed interiors will complement the property’s waterfront setting and contemporary architectural character.
The community’s amenity collection will extend the residential experience beyond the individual homes. Plans include an Oasis Pool Deck, a Cycling Lounge with convenient access to Sarasota’s Multi-Use Recreational Trail, The Hub, and a Club Room with private dining and an outdoor cocktail terrace. Additional features include a covered dog park and dog spa, along with a 24-hour staffed lobby and concierge services. Nearby, The Bay Sarasota offers additional waterfront recreation, including nature trails and a kayak launch.
The development will also include the Hyatt Centric® Harborside hotel, bringing additional hospitality conveniences to the address. Planned hotel dining, lounges and guest accommodations will provide residents with nearby options for entertaining and hosting visiting family and friends, complementing the condominium’s private residential amenities and services.
For buyers considering new-construction condominiums in downtown Sarasota, the current phase offers an opportunity to evaluate available floor plans, preferred elevations and individual view orientations while residence selections remain available.
